Assessment of solid waste management practices in Ikere local government, Ekiti State

The study assessed solid waste management practices in Ikere local government area of Ekiti state. purpose the was to find out practice. descriptive survey design research used for study. sample size three hundred (300) respondents Five (5) quarters selected streets were from each quarters. simple random sampling technique select sixty (60) houses quarter. instrument contained twenty-nine (29) items structured questionnaire adapted O’Leary (2014). A test-retest method reliability used, using Pearson’s Product Moment Correlation (PPMC). coefficient 0.67 obtained at 0.05 level significance. Chi-Square (x2) test hypotheses, alpha level. finding on burning refuse as a practice revealed that, Null hypothesis rejected therefore result significant. researcher recommended that adequate attention must be given order safe guard human health.
